Announcement: European Association of Law & Economics (EALE) Award for Prof. Ariel Porat
Theoretical Inquiries in Law is extremely excited and proud that Prof. Ariel Porat, President of Tel Aviv University and TIL’s Founding Editor, has won the European Association of Law & Economics’ Lifetime Achievement Award for 2020! Prof. Porat joins a small and prestigious list of scholars, such as Guido Calabresi and Robert Cooter, who have previously been acknowledged by EALE for “significant contributions to the field of Law and Economics.”
As Director of the Cegla Center for the Interdisciplinary Study of the Law, Prof. Porat founded TIL over twenty years ago, with his pioneering interdisciplinary vision. Since then he has led the journal to becoming one of the world’s leading journals on legal theory, and published several groundbreaking articles in it (see here, here, here and here).
Prof. Porat is also a guest editor and a contributor to TIL’s 22(2) issue on "How Law Changes What You Want: Positive and Normative Effects of Law on Values and Preferences,” forthcoming in July 2021.
Congratulations, Ariel, for another phenomenal achievement!
